Walnut Island Restaurant and Lodge has welcomed guests since 1958 as a sportsman's retreat for largemouth bass fishing and duck hunting on the Outer Banks. Located on Dowdy's Bay on Lower Currituck Sound, we look north toward the Currituck Beach Lighthouse at Corolla. For more than six decades, we have served sportsmen, families, and travelers from Grandy and across the OBX. The menu features local seafood, Angus steak, and classic American family dishes. Barry is a U.S. Navy veteran. Donna's family served in the U.S. Air Force. Together they support annual charity events that benefit Gold Star families. The lodge stays open year-round, and each room has its own theme. The restaurant and lodge connect through a bar with a dance floor, pool table, and NC Keno.
