Weekends at Walnut Island stretch longer than weekday dinner service. Saturday lunch starts at 11:00 a.m. and runs into late evening service. Sunday keeps brunch and dinner hours that suit church groups and travelers heading back toward the beach.

Friday and Saturday nights feature DJ Marshall from 9:00 p.m. to midnight in the bar. The same space holds a dance floor, pool tables, and NC Keno, so guests can stay in one building after their meal.

After dinner

Lodge guests walk straight from their themed rooms into the bar area without going outside in the rain. That layout is one reason reunion groups book room blocks here instead of splitting between a hotel and a restaurant miles away.
